Sarah Gish

Hello, GISH PICKS reader!
I need your help supporting my community service.

Money can be a taboo subject for those of us who give back to our communities. It seems tacky to be asking for it – after all, aren’t we volunteers for the greater good? I have so many friends who give and give and receive little in the way of financial remuneration. But it often takes money to keep doing what we love to do and to improve the world around us. This is why I’m asking for your help.

I am the GO.FIND.FUN girl and have been having a blast producing GISH PICKS since 2003 as a free service for Houston and the surrounding areas. I have scoured high and low to bring you information on unique activities for families as well as the latest news on products, services, and nonprofits that I think would be of interest to you. However, this free service is not free to me. My graphic designer, my researchers, and I happily create it week after week, but I need your help in keeping it going. So I am asking for your help, either financially or by telling others about my products and services. And just so you’ll know in advance, I will make this request for money once a year only, at this time of year. I hope this won’t cause you to unsubscribe and I also hope this won’t offend you.

A little more about some of my products and services: in addition to publishing GISH PICKS each week, I also publish THE SUMMER BOOK: A GUIDE TO HOUSTON DAY CAMPS AND CLASSES FOR KIDS AND TEENS each year in March. I’m joining forces with the Children’s Museum of Houston to celebrate TEN YEARS of THE SUMMER BOOK and GISH PICKS with a DECADE-nt Party!” at their place on Saturday, March 23. We’ll have a scavenger hunt, goodies, information about cultural orgs in town, and lots more. I hope you’ll join us! And if you need a speaker to come to your group, hire me! I’m full of summer fun ideas, resources, and humor -- and would LOVE to talk to your group about how to enrich your family’s summer. You can see more about my services and products here. And as I write this, I’m busy putting the final touches on THE SUMMER BOOK 2013 and can’t wait to share it with you. There are so many cool camps and classes in this city, it’s amazing. Place your order for the book now and you’ll get it early March.

So, if you'd like to help out, please click below to donate ANY amount of money to Gish Creative using your credit card or PayPal account.

If you’d prefer to snail mail me a check, that’s fine. Make the check payable to Gish Creative and mail it to: Gish Creative, 1940-A Fountainview, PMB 116, Houston, Texas 77057.

If you can donate $100 or more, I’ll send you passes to some of the best arts organizations in town. If you’d like to connect in other ways, please “like” my GISH PICKS Facebook page and take my survey about GISH PICKS readers, which will help me better serve your needs. And, as always, if you are on a budget and can’t help out financially, please spread the word about all that I do for families in the community and encourage your friends to become GISH PICKS subscribers by clicking here. The more people that know about GISH PICKS, the more the organizations that I am highlighting will be helped and will be inspired to create even more wonderful activities for our children.

Thank you for being my loyal reader. I love meeting so many of you out there having a blast discovering your own cultural activities. It’s our shared enthusiasm for this city that keeps me going. And I appreciate any support you can give me with all my heart.
