Jones Park is a featured stop in the Houston Wilderness Passport program and is a great place to explore with kids! In addition to Fishing Club and Tadpoles Club, every year Jones Park holds a Summer Nature Camp. During summer break each year, children ages 5 thru 12 spend four days a week learning about the world around them. The camp features a variety of themed nature subjects and is held mostly outdoors. Camp sessions include ranger talks, guided nature walks through the forest and visits to the ponds, swamps, and Spring Creek. The games, activities and crafts are suited for age brackets of 5 and 6, 7 through 9, and 10 through 12. Four-day sessions focus on each age bracket, and participants must be able to attend the full week of activities. Schedule dates vary per age bracket.
